Survey Says Many Kids Are Given Meds Incorrectly
DrugTopics.com, Hot Off The Press - April 7, 2003
Nearly 10% of children are given prescription medication incorrectly, according to a recent survey of 592 people who speak English as a second language. Parents who don't fully understand the instructions because of translation difficulties are responsible for giving these children medicines incorrectly, according to the survey, conducted by TransPerfect Translations. The survey also found that 33% of the overall respondents said they have left their doctor's office without being clear about their medications because of a language barrier.
